Piero Umiliani

1926-2001

Piero Umiliani composed and produced many of the new wave of European exploitation films scores in the 1960s and 70s, starting from classical pieces for commedy cinema to more adventurous and pioneering jazz mallet flavours of the late 50´s being the very first Italian composer to introduce these jazzy rhythms to a whole new audience , exploring new grounds in the Fantascienza film scoring with impressive musical techniques using new flourishing intrinsic patterns that matched the avandgard landscape on the screen. Up to the more swinging eurospy tracks thorugh out the early 60´s stablishing a very respectful career, covering many film genres over more innovative and jazzy recognizable keyboards such as the hammnod organ, well blended with refreshing vocal arrangements to highlight his already bright chord expressions that aways lead to a whole world of soothing jazz and and warm psychedelic space lounge atmospheres!

The very best of Piero Umiliani
